Ever wonder why telephone poles are all perfectly round and made of wood? Next time you go out, try to count all of the telephone poles that you see. Imagine just how many trees had to die so squirrels can electrocute themselves and we can sit at home on our computers and send random thoughts flying through cyberspace. What's up with making them all round? Wouldn't it be just as economical to make square telephone poles? And what happens to all the telephone poles after they've been deemed "unsafe" and are taken down to be replaced with yet another dead tree?
There is a woman who comes into the store where I work every week and buys about $60 dollars worth of plastic-packaged groceries. She does not have those convenient cloth shopping bags that you can buy at Boyers for $.99, but she insists that she won't need a plastic shopping bag because: "It'll only end up in a landfill, and it's time we all started thinking about that. The environment has suffered enough because of uninformed people's negligence." She then shuffles out the store(groceries piled precariously, and often falling on the floor) opens the door of her VERY new, VERY large, SUV and drives away. This woman is not married. She does not have children, or a job that would warrant owning such an automobile for any other purpose than for pleasure. I truly do not understand that woman.
Well, all of you have a lovely day!

love the post. . . you have such a way with words. . . . so is that why you drive a small car and carry a longaberger basket when you go grocery shopping???. . . btw, I think they grind up the old telephone poles and they become paper.
You should write more often! I enjoyed reading this post very much, b/c of you being my friend and knowing you didn't fall off the face of the earth (just picking), and also b/c of your writing style!! You go girl! Have a WONDERFUL week, Rachel
to answer your question about the poles: a few monthes ago we had a storm that blew down three of them outside of my house...the next day they were all sawed in half, and they are all still sitting there in nice neat piles...they all turned into fancy lawn decorations. lol. :)
